    Although i wouldn’t …
Although i wouldn’t recommend doing that, because you can get caught, there are many methods for switching cards…hiding cards up your sleeve is just a stereotype method of cheating in films…

Most cheating method describe simply palming the cards and what is called “mucking” or switiching the cards.

If you are serious to learn this stuff i would reccommend getting either, Card Sharp (DVD) by Brian tudor or Expert at the card table (book) by S.W erdnase.

    It does require practice!

    I ran out of …
I ran out of comment space.

There is an old saying in magic, “if you want to keep something a secret, put it in print.”

This comes to mind because you say you have a copy of Erdnase EATCT (1902).

Look up Stock Shuffle and fig. 32. It’s our old friend a bottom run up.

In his description he says pull from the bottom first and then the top, ie it’s not simultaneous.

Your method is better, both should be pulled at the same time, and that’s how it’s described in the other books.

    good question, i …
good question, i don’t know if you are a magician, but if you are, you should be able to perform a “pass”…

this is just a method of reversing a cut, under the cover of your hands, therefore retaining the original order of the deck…

search “pass tutorial” on YT, you’ll see what i mean….

or you can crimp the top card before handing it to by cut, this will allow you to cut back to the original top card, again, by performing a pass

  22. rami0048 on December 21st, 2008

    there is a major …
there is a major problem about this !!!!! some tournaments require that the small blind on the left of the dealer “cuts the deck” that will ruin the whole sequence… the golden question is how to control how the deck is cut….?? thanks mate

  23. beneaththeabove on December 21st, 2008

    yes, thats true, …
yes, thats true, although you would never deal to yourself first, if you wanted the first person to your left to win then you would need to peel off the bottom card last without a card ontop…however, when done quick it will look like the top card… most magicians should be able to make it look like the top card, and with enough practice you will be able to aswell

  24. pseven21 on December 21st, 2008

    theres one problem. …
theres one problem. When you need to deal to yourself first, the method of taking out the bottom card with the top doesn’t work. If there are 4 people, you will need to take 3 from the top, then 1 from the bottom separatly. It looks kind of werid when you just take one card off the bottom by itself

  25. beneaththeabove on December 21st, 2008

    it is quite …
it is quite difficult to get natural, a card magician should be able to do it within 15 mins…i taught a few of my friends and they had it within 1 hour….compared with other cheating methods that take months and years to perfect this is probably the easiest out there…

i also like it because you can be stopped at any time during the stacking by people at the table and you can’t be caught….if they see you taking off the bottom they attribute it to sloppyness…
